LAFAYETTE (Star City News) - Lafayette's Almost Home Humane Society is at capacity with more than 30 adoptable dogs -- including Avalanche, a lab looking for his next home.
"He does love his treats obviously being a lab mix and he has seemed to like pretty much anything here," Brittany Tommila, director of the Almost Home Humane Society, said.
Avalanche is a happy-go-lucky lab mix with snow-white fur. He is around one year old and weighs 70 pounds.
"Walking by dog friends, walking by strangers, people, toys, treats, pretty much anything that exists he's been happy with," Tommilla said.
He is very energetic so he would do great with a family with older kids or an active person looking for a dog to match their lifestyle.
"He's gonna want a place where he can get his energy out and someone that is really willing to kinda play with him, take him out and take him on adventures," Tommilla said.
Avalanche has not been at the humane society for long -- but he already has all of his medical needs taken care of.
"He is already neutered, he's vaccinated, he's up to date on pretty much everything and he is ready to go home," Tommilla said.
If you want to adopt Avalanche, visit the Almost Home Humane Society on 2nd Street. His adoption fee is $150.
Applications for Avalanche or any adoptable dogs must be picked up in person. You can stop by the Almost Home Humane Society Tuesday through Saturday from noon until six p.m.
